Description
Up for auction a rather nice 1950-1959 HEDDON No.P-41-N "PAL" JEWELED NARROW SPOOL LEVEL-WIND TAKE-APART TOURNAMENT CASTING REEL. The No.P-41 series of reels were actually built and supplied to James Heddon's Sons by the Bronson Reel Co. The No.P-41-N narrow spool model was recommended for both tournament competition and for fishing with light tackle and was offered from 1950 through the 1959 season. The tail plate is stamped "HEDDON"Pal"

", while under the foot reads "PAT. APP. FOR MADE IN U.S.A.". Made with a black anodized aluminum body and comes equipped with strong clicker, smooth level-wind, strong anti-backlash control switch, perfect jeweled oil caps, tension control, lightweight aluminum spool with balsawood arbor, aluminum tournament handle with dual plastic grips and a take-apart feature which allows the reel to be disassembled for servicing by simply unscrewing the aluminum head ring by hand. I've added a photo of the original listing from Heddon's 1950 catalog. Reel is in about Very Good condition, showing light to moderate wear. Should clean up even nicer. Reel displays beautifully. Works perfectly and is very smooth-running. A nice example of these narrow spool tournament versions from Heddon, all original and complete. To be sold with a very low starting bid and NO RESERVE. Buyer to pay .90 shipping via U.S. Priority Mail, with full insurance and tracking. Payment must be received within 3 days of auction closure.
