Up on the auction block is a game used early 1940's - mid 1950's Spalding J5-V leather football! The model J5-V was Spalding's top of the line football from the early 1930's into the 1970's.
As the photos show, the ball is in game used but good shape (see all photos for condition). The leather has light game used surface wear through out but no major damage.
The J5-V's were first made with a No. before the model #. In 1941 Spalding removed the No. to just J5-V. This style logo stayed this way until 1956 when they switched to the circular style logo with larger print. This is how to date the older J5-V's. We also included a scan (for reference only) from a 1941 Spalding advertisement where you can see the same model football. The ball has the original bladder that still holds pressure! The laces are original as well. Half of the first and last wrap are missing but the ball still looks great.
Wood display stand is not included.
