VERY RARE JA Bailey Signed Aynsley Rose/Poppy Bouquet Set
This is one of the most sought after Aynsley sets and features gorgeous large flowers in the center of the cup. Cup measures 3.5” in diameter and about 2.25” tall. Saucer measures about 5.5” in diameter.
Overall excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing on either piece. Both pieces have a nice ring to them when tapped. The turquoise on the saucer appears to be just a tiny shade lighter than the cup.
Cup:
There are a few very tiny scratches in the center of the cup on the rose. There are a few tiny white spots on the outside of the cup that show through the turquoise. There is a spot on the gold of the handle that is a little rough to the touch. Few tiny white spots on the gold of the handle. Near the handle there is a small stray gray mark. The gold on the foot of the cup is a little bronzey. The signature inside the cup is partially cut off at the front. There is a spot on the outside of the cup where the glaze feels slightly uneven like one part is just a tad thicker.
Saucer:
Near the inside ring of the center it appears that you can see some tiny tiny bubbles in the glaze, it appears to be that and not crazing, but it is hard to tell since it is so hard to see unless you turn it in the light just the right way. The saucer has ridges around the edges, but they are not as pronounced as some of the saucers I have had like this before. The saucer is also a tad bit thicker than others I have had. Just figured I would note.
