HUICHOL YARN ART THIMBLE - PRETTY SHADES OF BLUE - YELLOW FLOWER TOP

This auction is for a hand crafted yarn art thimble created by Huichol Indians of Jalisco, Mexico. A wonderful family of Huichol artists have created glass beaded thimbles for me for at least 12 years. After a few years of making glass beaded thimbles  I asked if they could create thimbles using their unique yarn art technique. I am really pleased with the results. To my knowledge these are the only yarn art thimbles on the planet as they traditionally do not make thimbles and the yarn art is only found in a small area of Mexico. The thimbles are 1 - 1 1/8" tall and are in NEW condition. The thimble in the photo is the one you will receive.
As with the glass beaded items, the yarn is applied over beeswax, a soft natural product. Therefore, I would not recommend displaying them in a window where they would be exposed to the hot sun for long periods. For quite a few years I lived in a warm desert climate and never had a problem in many years of collecting Huichol items but to me it seems only sensible that you would not want to do this
