Up on the auction block is a beautiful late 1930's early 1940's Reach wing back
leather football helmet! As the photos show, the helmet is in game used but good shape! It has game use wear through out with most of the wear on the interior (see last 3 photos).
The leather is soft and supple but still
very strong.
It
has a great shine and awesome look with the usual game used signs of wear through out (see all photos for condition). It has been painted a gorgeous
blue
way back in the day. We usually remove the paint but this one just has
that look
so we left it as is.
No dyes, colored polishes, or coloring of any kind used. The hard shell crown of the helmet is in good shape as well with no cracks or dents. The Reach makers logo is stamped onto the inner suspension strap connecting pad. As mentioned, the leather covered padding on the interior of the helmet has wear through out but is still holding up (see last 3 photos). The size 7 1/4 is marked on the upper left corner of the wing.
The wood display stand
is not included.
