    Description

    This is a Penn Peerless No. 9 level wind reel in excellent condition.
    I do not know much about fishing reels though I recognize quality when I see it.  I discovered this reel at the estate of a collector and I know nothing about it's history.
    I will attempt to describe the reel from what I see here and my limited research. This is the Penn Peerless No. 9 and the reel weighs about 13 ounces.  All of the operations are smooth and they work as designed.  I would guess this dates from the late 1950's to 1960's or so.
    I wiped the reel down with a soft cloth to remove some storage dust and grime.  The reel is clean and shiny though there are areas that could use a polish if it's to be displayed.  There is no rust or decay present and the sides are a deep brown color.
    The reel is very smooth and the clicker is strong and loud, it works as it should when activated by sliding the slide button.
