Up on the auction block is a very nice 1930's Ken Wel wing back leather football helmet and Goldsmith
leather shoulder pads! As the photos show, they are both in very good condition with only light signs of game use

. The helmet is very solid. All the leather is intact and in good shape! It was painted white back in the day along with red trim. Both of the rear elastic straps are present and tight. The interior of the helmet is also in great shape. All of the wool is present as are all of the inner suspension straps. The leather forehead pad has some cracking but is in pretty good condition. It has a very cool KEN WEL cloth makers tag sewn into the inside of the helmet (see close-up). Ken Wel is also stamped into the back right of the helmet along with the model # 75A. It is a nice size helmet. We would guess it to be a 7 to 7 1/8. The Goldsmith shoulder pads look as though they have seen very little use. They are soft and supple with no damage. One of the draw strings appears to be the original. The other is a replacement. They are youth size measuring 17" in total length and 12 1/2" in width. The Goldsmith logo and model # 14X are clearly marked on the pads (see close-up).
